Wishes come from the heart. They’re an indicator we want something different than what is unfolding in our personal or professional life. (Have you ever felt the nudge?) Wishes can also be clues to our potential, so it’s important to pay attention to them. I’ve heard many wishes in my years of working with people in all stages of life, and I’ve written some of them below. Which are true for you?
I wish I had
- more certainty in my goals/direction
- less confusion about where to go next
- more ‘mojo’
- more fun
- a job that fits my passions
- something I felt passionate about
I wish I could
- have less stress
- be more confident
- know what I do best
- understand my family
- describe my authentic self
- work better with my boss/colleagues
I wish I felt
- less stuck
- that I knew the real me
- my employment had meaning
- ideally suited for my work
- productive and working with purpose
- that I could find my joy
